Maritza Verdun-Jones, B.A. (Hons), LLB, CCR was called to the bar in Alberta in 2007 and to the bar in British Columbia in 2010. Following her call to the Alberta Bar, she has been practicing family law and is also a Collaborative Family Lawyer.
Maritza is also an accredited Family Law Mediator by the Law Society of British Columbia. Notwithstanding that she has considerable experience in conducting interim hearings and trials at both the Provincial and Supreme Court levels, she understands that some family law matters can be successfully resolved without court intervention.
She believes that the collaborative process results in quicker resolutions that are mutually agreeable for the families involved and the process further assists in preserving ongoing relationships between the parents, which is often critical for the children involved.
“Accepting Legal Aid Files”
What my clients say
“I appreciated that Rupinder was very efficient in getting prepared and negotiating at mediation on my behalf, fluent and efficient at legal speak and document preparation. All while maintaining a posture of confidence, assertiveness, and professionalism. There is also much to say about her staff, many of whom have been around for a long time and operate a well-oiled machine. They’re always very eager to help, super friendly and attentive. They certainly help to soften the unpleasantries of litigating. There is much to say about a law firm with loyal, helpful and long-term staff.”
